Summer Camp

About our Camp

Welcome Horse Lovers!

We are so happy you are interested in our Greylyn Summer Riding Camp for 2023. For the past 40 years Greylyn campers have enjoyed a summer of riding camp that focuses on SAFETY-EDUCATION-FUN!

Our horses and ponies are part of our Greylyn stable family and have been with us for many years. They are chosen for their patience and kindness. They must have more “whoa” than “go” because we want our riders as safe as possible as they learn and explore the world of horses.

Riders may join us for as many weekly sessions as they would like! They will learn so many fun and educational aspects of being a horse lover. Beginners and younger riders will have their own Pony Pal groups and the older girls will be grouped according to age and experience.

At Greylyn our style of riding that we teach is English and we show hunter/jumper/equitation. We believe that the safest and most correct way of riding is the same instruction we give our show riders. Even if our campers never compete in a horse show, we will teach them the same basics and fundamentals as if they were going to show.

Of course, we also have fun and games! Relay races, pony painting, bubble baths, arts and crafts, nature walks and much more fill our weekly camps.

We are looking forward to a super fun 2023 camp season! I’m looking

forward to sharing our horses and ponies with your horse loving child!

Love & Blessings,

Rachael

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we bring?

Riders should wear long pants (preferably jeans). Footwear should be a type of boot that has a hard sole and a small heel and an ASTM approved helmet. Riders may bring sneakers to wear when we are doing other activities. Please label your child’s items with their name.

*Please no sandals or open-toe footwear.

Don’t forget the sunscreen, a towel, lunch, plenty of water and horse treats!

Will riders ride the same horse each day?

Most kids have their super favorite pony or horse. We will try our best to have them ride their favorite horse. Although, it’s also fun to try different horses and there is much to learn by riding multiple horses. It’s a win-win!

My child has an allergy, can he/she still attend?

Of course! If we have a rider with an allergy, we ask all parents to please not send their kids with the item which causes the allergic reaction. We can also have the rider (with allergies) sit with our staff and counselors for lunch.

How do we register?

You may register online at www.greylynfarm.com

We ask for your rider’s name, address, age, parent’s name and all necessary contact numbers. Please choose the week(s) attending. No deposit is required but you are asked to kindly give notice if you are unable to attend after submitting an application. You may also text info to Rachael at: 484-566-9440.

Life gets busy! What if our vacation plans change and we can

only do a few days of the week that we signed up for?

You only pay for the days which your child is at the stable. If your vacation plans change and you can’t come the last 2 days of the week, you will be refunded for those days.

At Greylyn we are very flexible!

When and how do we pay?

The full payment of $425 per week is due on the first day of camp. Payment may be made cash or check (made out to: Greylyn Farm) No deposits are needed. Once your registration is filled out your spot is saved! Riders doing more than (1) week of camp will receive a $25 discount for each additional week of camp they attend.

Where can I purchase a riding helmet?

Riding helmets may be purchased at Rick’s Heritage Saddlery @ 1340 Pottstown Pike West Chester, Pa. 19380 Phone: 610-431-3272

Or Dover Saddlery @ 683 Yorklyn Rd Hockessin, De 19707

Phone: 302-234-8047

What is the protocol for riding pertaining to covid 19?

Riders may wear masks while in the stable or outside. Once mounted and riding, riders do not have to wear masks.

All tack and items used in camp and on the horses (saddles and bridles) are cleaned daily.

My child doesn’t feel well but doesn’t have a fever, can they

still attend camp?

We ask that children who feel “under the weather” remain at home until feeling better. Better to rest up and come to camp feeling ready to enjoy a day of excitement and fun!

What should I do if I need to contact the stable with a message

during camp?

You may text Rachael with your questions at: 484-566-9440
